best place to live between Baden - Zug

Hello guys,

I am writing to ask your opinion about best place to live around Zurich... I am actually working in Zug-Baar, and I will move with my boyfriend who will work in Baden...so I was thinking to live not to close to the lake since the rents are more expensive than inside...I mean: Adliswil, Langnau am Albis, Affoltem am Albis, Hedingen...these tows are well connected with Zug (my boyfriend will use the car), I heard zones around Zurich like Dietikon are not nice to live, is this trues? Any suggestions is very welcome

Hi, the surroundings of dietikon are beautiful. Of course dietikon itself isnt nice. Look at places like oetwil an der limmat or geroldswil weiningen. Small selfcontained and well connected.

With SBB announcing increases in train fares yet again, this is something I would certainly take into consideration.

Affoltern am Albis region, I would say for the commute for both

of you.

Thalwil also has great train connections.

thanks for the replies. I am indeed looking at Affoltern am Albis areas as I see rents are cheaper than Horgen, Thalwill... I will take a look also areound Dietikon...Baden it does not look great to me, but may I am wrong as I was there only several times.

Actually SBB constantly increases their prices yearly... and I think for some rates they are too much, for ex. a normal price ticket from ZH till Milano (without HT abbonament) it will cost a bit less than a flight from ZH till Milano. Considering also that that particularry line the services is very bad it is really disappointing. But this is another topic.

Try driving to Baden in the morning from there.....not fun.

Urdorf....perfect for getting to Baden or Baar with public transport, and great infrastructure (super Badi, shopping and train connections). Also great for raising kids, great schools (ahem, if you are thinking along those lines). We lived there 14 years, and loved it.

Thalwil...beautiful location, train connections excellent...but good luck finding an apartment (lived there 7 years).
