what is the best pub that serves food and drinks until really late for not a lot of money. this way i could go regularly. we have the harry's bar which serves until 1 but i cannot regularly kill 50 chf per round of drinks.
There is the Jazz Cafe on Rue des Alpes in Montreux that is run by an American couple which is very popular with students. They serve very good burgers, wraps and other snacks. They also have live music a couple of times a month. My 18 year old son likes it there.
In my area, I'm aware that a couple of bar/restaurants that always seem to do a good trade, particularly in the after work locals on the way home from work drinks, before the evening diners come, are combined with tennis clubs with indoor tennis courts.
i can't believe I've never been there wow. near what is it on that street?

It looks nothing from the outside but it's nice inside.
There is building work going on opposite it, there is a big guitar shop close by and it's next to a take away.
Love that place. and burgers are reall good. and they also have a huge dog running around in the bar (otis) who is so friendly
It is right next to an ethical butcher and a pizza resto. and a little further down from the communal offices. They are doing construction right in front of it.
You wont find the guitar shop as it closed recently....
I recall The White Horse on the main road near the market being quite reasonable, but that was a few years ago
Its good but in desperate need of renovation.....bit dirty for todays standards.
Try Gloria's in the old town. Always busy and drinks are very reasonable.
Or try cafe du raisin which is just out of montreux in Brent. Amazing view, good service and great steak.
