best stretch mark prevention product during pregnancy

I used Weleda (same as Nil) and can really recommend it.

Got no stretch marks, but maybe I'm only lucky.

got waleda...hope it works!!! fingers crossed!! thanks everyone for the tips!!!

A friend who does skincare at a spa back in the states recommended pure vitamin E oil (this, I already used on my face in evenings, 5,000 u.i), OR pure cocoa butter (i.e., the hard stuff, food grade). think you can get these at some of the natural product shops. Niether are expensive and they are 100% natural. I alternate with both since the belly started growing and am 3 weeks away from DD. so far, so good. I do not believe in using anything with anythign you cannot pronounce, and why spend more. both cocoa butter and Vit.E have long been known to help with scarring and stretch marks.

Bio Oil - I found good for reducing them after pregnancy, not sure if you can use during, I got it when recommended for a scar I had and worked a treat on that and I then tried on the stretch marks and I did see improvement.

100% recommend Bio-oil - 2 very large babies after not a single stretch mark visible! its great and available on line. And just regular moisturiser day and nite - good luck with the pregnancy

Where it is true that it's mostly genetic there is a product that has been very effective with many girls I know, it is called Frei Oel and you get it at pharmacies. The key ingredient which you can also find in other products is vitamin E. My midwife told me so years ago and after three pregnancies I have zero stretchmarks.

My best friend's had 2 babies and not a single stretch mark. This was unlike her mom or two sisters, I don't believe that just because your mom has them, means you will.

Anyways.

Starting at 4 months, she oiled up with bio oil every morning and night. Also when she got home from work she would lotion up her butt, thighs, boobs and stomach.

Hydration plays a big role in preventing skin streching and damagr during those months. I used l'occitane's aromatherapy oils (morning and evening) because they smelled so nice and relaxing. Throughout the pregnsncy I had virtually no new strechmarks around my abdomen area (I still think rubbing globs of oil helpef) but after my milk came in the hospital I noticed severe strechmarks under my boobs. Half a year on they've almost dissapeared, so don't freak out if you see a million red streaks under there- they do go away (although it looked so bad I didn't believe the nurses when they consoled me at the time)
