I agree! I find Samurai awesome!

Any updates anybody? Where is the best sushi in Zuerich or Basel? Even if it means it is just "alright", and not bad.

Not in Zurich or Basel, but try hirschli in Baden Kt.Aargau.its called Sushi Box find it under Hirschli.com

You will nit regret it.

For 68 you get all you can eat !

I have heard lots of good things about Yooji's on Bahnhofstrasse (Zürich). The prices are fair, sushi looks good and everytime we go passed (weekends) there has been a waiting line for tables! Hope to eat there soon...

Best sushi bar?

Or maybe ...

Indeed...I have found that 2 things taste of fish...and 1 of thems fish:msngrin

I hate Yooji's. The stuff on the conveyor belt is awful (gummy, overpressed rice), and the stuff made to order is OK, but not great. Their seafood is mediocre quality and the selection is tiny. (Yooji's and Negishi are two Swiss-run sushi chain restaurants. But they're no cheaper than good places, and their sushi is blanded down for the Swiss palate. They don't even season the rice, even the rare times they have managed to cook it properly.) People go because they a) don't know better, b) the locations are convenient, and c) they have a modern look that people here like.

Seriously, Samurai (linked in a post above) is hands-down the best I've had in Switzerland, they have a nice selection, and it's actually cheaper than Yooji's. But make sure to reserve in advance.

Samurai is by far the best!!!

I have been waiting SO long for some decent sushi so hubby and I are off to Samurai tomorrow night After reading your comments I would hate to try Yooji's and be disappointed, especially after craving it for ages......

I love sushi and have tried several places in Zurich and frankly I am still looking for my dream Swiss sushi local...I know its sad but Yoogi's (there are a few around town) on Seefeldstrasse is perhaps my top pic but by my pretty high standards it would be at best a 6 out of 10

Ginger on Seefeldstrasse. Pricey but good. You can choose to sit in the 'front' of the restaurant with the conveyor belt....or in the 'back' where you will have traditional waited service (consistent with the crap Swiss service you'd expect). Go with the mindset that you're there for decent sushi (ignoring the uppity clientele at times and crap service).

Disclaimer - been a year since i was there.

Have you not tried Samurai yet? Pretty much everyone agrees that it's the best in Zurich. Yooji's is... junk.
