Bet365 !!! can deposit but cannot withdraw money

As the World cup started ,I decided to bet.

I choose bet365 after entering my credit card details etc. I was able to place the bets. Now I want to withdraw whatever little was left.

Now comes the Twist...

Bet365 says: you need to verify KYC (know your ****ing Customer)

I need to give some details..they dont ask for any thing except credit card when placing bet and when withdraw they need documents.

Why do I have to submit documents to get my own money back.

I agreed and send the Docs(DL) and now they say its not accepted you need to send your Passport copy.Passport copy on betting site which is already looking Dodgy to me

Dude, depending on how much is left over, you may want to take it as a loss. Since they have your CC info already, do you really want to send them your passport info ?

I would also keep an eye on your CC statements. There are many scammers out there.

I got some medicine when first arriving here, and ordered it from a "reputable" company in the UK. Fortunately I used my AMEX. 4 months later, i received an email from the CC company with a possible fraud message. Turns out that someone tried to charge a hotel room for almost 1000 .

Needless to say I did cancel my CC and got a new one.

Good luck!

I've used Bet365 for over a year now with no problems.

Sorry to hear fo your hassles

Did you withdraw your money as well.

If yes what document proof did they ask for?

Cheers

Bet365 is a reputable company with an excellent record.

I can almost smell the libel case brewing ......

I did not say that this particular company was or was not reputable. The OP stated that he was concerned about a "dodgy" company. My point was that if any company wants a copy of a passport online, one must consider the consequenses.

well as bet365 deal with large transactions its more likely its gov regs that make them ask for proof of id before transfering large sums of clean money into a bank account

Are trying to get the EF shut down ?

This is normal for any betting site, if you read the policies you will find it in there

i have used bet365 many times while in UK, they are as legit as you can get in gambling industry. you can send them driving license and they would accept that as your id

Time to cool down. "Know Your Customer" is a control to prevent money-laundering. It's one of the reasons you're asked to provide ID to open a bank account, and often, to open a bank account in person. Not only is this totally normal, you were informed about it when you signed up for bet365 . It's part of their terms and conditions which you must accept to join the website:

This preventative measure extends to online gambling as well. In addition to preventing money laundering, they are designed to ensure that you are of legal age to gamble and to minimise the risk of collusion (cheating) between gamblers.

Have a look here (specifically page 19 onwards):

http://www.eu-ba.org/pdf/Levi_Final_...g%20280909.pdf

Bet365 is a reputable online gambling firm, and demanding ID under the 'know your customer' provisions is not unreasonable -- in fact, it helps make the gambling safer for everyone involved.

They should be able to provide appropriate assurances that your data privacy will be respected according to EU guidelines.

Because you've made an unsubstantiated accusation of employee theft / fraud without any evidence to support such an accusation, in a public forum, attributable to the English Forum?

Does Ittigen own English Forum? Why would he be seen as representing EF? Sorry, I don't understand why you are so upset Village Idiot

EF owns the posts, EF actively moderated the censors the forum. That means that it's their problem if the site displays libellous content.

But isn't there something about EF not being responsible for the content of the posts?

Doesn't matter - they own them, they moderate them, they're responsible. They can disassociate themselves from any responsiblity if they never moderated anything, but even this doesn't work. That's why all those financial threads keep getting shut down.

The EF has come very close to being sued before for posts less libelous than yours.

I just got into a similar situation with bet365.

I bet in the game Netherlands vs Costa Rica for "less than 7 corners" in the full time. I did so at minute 48 (second half) of the game with a line of 3.75 to win and with only 2 corners done in the first half so far. I was attentively looking at that only one bet of course for positive cash out possibilities which vanished or went "negative" in about 10 minutes later after a corner from Netherlands. The bet was available for cash out until the corner number 6 which happened at minute 82 or so and at that point the bet could no longer be cashed out. I put a sizable amount and I won the bet, the game did ended with 6 corners. But when I checked the balance and it was not reflecting this win; I Chatted with support and it turns out that they changed my bet in the betting history from "less than 7 corners" to "less than 6 corners" and marked it as a loss.

Now it seems I don't have any proof of the wrong doing and I have no idea what to do. Would a Credit Card claim help? I bet a sizable amount and won a 3.75 times that sizable amount. After the talk with support and mentioning a possible Credit Card claim they suspended my account and I can't withdraw what is left of my balance which is another sizable amount. I had already sent to them all the requested documents and "validated" my account.

Would there be any way to recover the screen shot of the bet at the point I had it open? Their site uses flash I believe and as far as I know there is no way to do this. btw if you bet make screen shots otherwise is kind of your word against theirs. I was watching the game at home with my MacBook Pro open and betting there but betting using the iPhone would be impossible to screen-shot.

Is there an organization that can help? would the Credit Card provider help at least in trying to get back all the stakes I deposited?

Did you not get some kind of confirmation email after placing the bet?
