Beware nudity! -in Basel city-

When I first got here, I started wondering about people in bikinis and speedos trying to catch a tan anywhere they could (public parks, river sides, etc) and I wondered about what would happen if someone would want to do it topless. My doubts dissipated yesterday.

If you are planning on having a swim on the Rhein now that it's so hot, beware of walking between Roche and Tinguely museum close to the river. I was walking along the Rhein yesterday when I came across a bunch of naked people (and when I say people I mean old dudes, but that's not really the point) In a country that it's so strict with certain things, I really was surprised to see this sort of "nude city beach".

It's doesn't really bother me, this is just an announcement if you don't wanna see someone else's privat parts "al fresco".

What can I say? It's a free country.

Just make no noise and take no bath after 10pm.

I get the intention but it really surprised me because they are so careful about "not bothering" neighbours and so on, that this just got to me.

That's a well-known nude beach. I've never been down to it but regularly float past it (on my Rhine swim from Tinguely down to Johanittebrucke).

Unfortunately it's always the oldies with flabby rolls of fat that are free with their bodies!

I wouldn't let the whole "Puritan" thing get to you.

After you've seen enough dangly bits, you stop worrying about it.

Why should a naked body bother anyone? Its the most natural thing.

My previous employer didn't agree with that argument.

Perhaps it was because I was drunk at the Christmas party at the time.

A well known nudist beach...nothing to be concerned about, also well known nudist beach on the german side just past the french barrage

Well, it might be a well know nudist beach but it's not indicated anywhere. I'm used to nudism but normally there is a sign or something.

And a country that looks at you weird if you don't wear the proper clothes to work seems funny to have naked blokes along the city :/

There was a sign pointing to the location but it was shaped like penis so they took it down. It had only been erected a few hours before.
