Beware - online orders from Migros (not groceries) shops not allowed to be deposited

Hello all!

Maybe you are aware but just wanted to share this as I was negatively surprised this week.

Have always ordered from SportXX and Migros Electronic and MiCasa. They were using the Post to deliver and was great and reliable - mostly next day delivery.

Now they switched to Planzer, which in my experience is less reliable, but the worse thing is that Migros does not allow Planzer to deposit the package even if you as a customer want to.

If you are not timely with acting on the delivery notice, the package is then immediately brought to an MPickUp branch the next day and you need to pick up there.

This is a reason for me to never order there again as I cannot be home waiting for a package for 10 hrs....

Anyway, wanted to let you know so you are aware and make your own decisions.

But you don't have to wait 10 hours and can just go and pick it up, right?

If I wanted to go to a shop I would not order online. I mean I need to be available at home 10 hrs to receive the order. Instead of the delivery person just depositing it.

If I choose home delivery instead of pick up at M point it's because I want a home delivery.

Don't see why Migros should take that choice away from me or then better not offer it in the first place.

It could be due to packages being stolen or reported as missing and its likely Pflanzers policy, not Migros.

They don‘t even give time slots? Wow, even Aldi does that.

Nespresso has changed from la Post to DPD, disaster.

Nope, it's Migros choice. Both Planzer and Migros confirmed this.

I have requested deposits with Planzer many times. And since it's my responsibility if packages get stolen, it should be my choice also.

No, not until the morning of the day and then it's a 4 hrs slot.

I don't know if this applies to food deliveries though, I have confirmation from Migros that it applies to the online stores of SportXX, MiCasa, Melectronic, Do-It Garden.

It explains why I see so many Pflanzer cars recently.

I see. Whether Migros or Pflanzer I do understand why they do not deposit items that do not fit into a standard mailbox in unsecure places and I do personally prefer that approach.

Very few couriers do nowadays, at least for trivial/small items.

Planzer did deposit a pair of shoes I ordered from Sportxx. They put it in the mailbox. Maybe there is a value limit?

Or maybe it’s because it fitted in the mail box?

Unless it’s a signed for delivery I would assume they would deposit all small packages in the mailbox.

How do you know it's unsecure places? If you don't want a deposit you can make that choice and I want to be able to do the same just like with all the other shops I buy from.

I always order it for me to collect.

Makes sense if you live in a high-crime area. I’ve had numerous packages left beside our front door, fully visible from the street. Never had one go missing.

Same for us but I think I’d probably be more careful if we lived in a different location.

No problem with crime, just easier as I go past Migros on my way home from work.

I guess this also applies to Galaxus. There's a small Migros within the apartment complex, so I always choose PickMup at the shop.

I thought living among the carrots and cows in the border of the forests was isolated. I was wrong.

If this applies to food deliveries (I don't know, either), it could be a question of ensuring that the cooling is guaranteed.

It's ok I get it, you want the deposit option, but clearly they decided to implement a general rule to cover the majority of situations.

Have not experienced it with Galaxus. Same as before where deposit is allowed.
