I have found that 2XL here is the equivalent of XL in the US, more often than not running short and slim fit.
any suggestions are welcome!

There is a store right near my office on Talackerstrasse.
I can give you the name later when I leave the office, I can't remember.
Very near the intersection Talackerstrasse and Pelikanstrasse. Tram line stop (tram 2 or 9) is Sihl, right next to Paddy O'Reilly's and then head towards the Talacker Bar, keep walking past the parking lot area in front of the Talacker Bar and cross the street (across the tram tracks and there it is)
I have always dreaded buying clothes and shoes, everytime I go back to the UK, I pick up new clothes as I know the shops that sell stuff in my size.
us "big-footed" guys just have to settle with whatever the stores have.
Instead of asking "do you have these in size 48"...i now ask "what, if any, have you got in size 48"
clothes...at 6'4" it is a little tough finding clothes LONG enough for my monkey arms....
Try WE...the clothes, although cut slimmer, are nice and long and I even get to roll the sleeves up on the odd shirt I have from there...
My husband is taller and with as big feet. He shops for shoes at Sascha's ( www.saschas.ch ) in Backerstrasse near Stadelhofen and for tall clothes at Dimitrius further up the same street. Unfortunately, the clothes not particularly cheap, but good quality and best of all - they fit.
Good luck!

The first has a shop on Loewenstrasse in Zurich. Bought a couple of shirts from there, and been very happy with them.
The second seems to be an online outfit, that does "sizing events" to get your measurements. Not used them, but looks interesting...
The clothing to fit issue is not just for men, apart from catalogues and things my NAN wouldn't wear I just can't buy a great deal of clothes that fit here. Which is why I always wear pretty much the same stuff...
Fox Town Mendrisio is worthy of a visit....
Good luck,
Jim
..so every now and then I just fly to the US and go on a clothes shopping spree.. that usually lasts me a while. Since it is rather cold in Switzerland for about 4 - 6 months, you can get away with wearing nice cahmere sweaters (which are expensive but since you aend up wearing them alot are cheaper than getting shirts etc...)
Philip
ps = just mail orderd some camera equipment from the US, even with international shipping and the Swiss 7.6% tax it was still much cheaper, so i might go for some clothes too.
