...particularly people in the UK....you might remember the kids meat 'Billy Bear'? I think it's sausage slices.... Anyway, the question is....has anyone ever seen it around here? Or in a neighbouring country? I was a fussy eater as a kid and insisted on only eating this meat in my sandwiches. Well, the old habit hasn't changed. Yes, it is childish. Maybe it's some kind of 'home comfort'.
I could have pretended I had a kid or something, but I think it's better to be totally honest. I love the Billy Bear sausage and I'm looking for myself!
Is it possible to get this at all over here? I'd be happy to import it but after much investigation, it just looks impossible.
My kids loved that. In fact, this thread should be tied to the Meatcheeese thread and all things luncheon meat/Spam. What lengths Supermarkets go to to get people to eat emulsified offal and mechanically separated meat eh ? Slap a happy face and colours on it and kids will eat it.
It's great with tomato sauce on granary bread :-)
Sadly , I have not seen it for sale here at any Deli or Meat counter.
It worked with my Brother and I! None of us eat any normal luncheon meat now. It just has to be Billy Bear. I've tried the 'grown up' meat but it just isn't the same....I realise this is incredibly childish
