Agree, but I see Digitec's pre-order price as 699 CHF. This online vendor from the UK also can ship to Switzerland for about the same price including shipping.
Still somewhat steep given that blackberry, to all intents and purposes, is dead.
They took an almost one billion dollar charge to reflect the asset value of unsold Z10s. Basically they've got warehouses full of them that are going nowhere fast.
not worth it - you can pick up a Lumia 920 on ricardo for 200 Fr. and get a device with an OS that's actually been gaining in market share (quite drastically so, as a matter of fact).
Unfortunately they failed to move from their laurels until it was too late - firms were talking about what to do in a post blackberry era back in 2010. It would seem like most of them decided.
By the time the new 10 series phones were released. iOS and Android ruled the roost, and it would be difficult to imagine BB making inroads into that market despite the BB10 OS being something pretty damned good by all accounts.
You can have a bloody awesome barn, with a door to die for, but if the horse is already gone then...
I've written that somewhere else before. Maybe here, or the register - I can't remember.
WP was equally late but they're doing OK now - I guess what BB was lacking was the money to bribe the app manufacturers into making apps for the platform
Blackberry is in the midst of a corporate buyout (possible) with due dilligence on going. I am not expecting that to happen as Blackberry's financials are a true mess. I noticed the Z30 for sale in swisscom for a mighty 730 francs. im not going to even go there. Just avoid buying new bb products until their
yes exactly. i see their only way forward as an asset fire sale to the largest bidders. there is no intention of keeping the bb infrastructure as an on going concern. now some govt might want to, or it might be privatised to that effect. but bb as we know it is toast.
I'd definitely take one for €150, can you show me where?
Its a lot of phone for that kind of money, just like their Playbook tablet which was being sold below cost price at £120 for the 64GB version... bargain for that kind of Rolls Royce build quality!!
Especially with 'Blue Chip' companies as well. Admittedly I found them a bit clumsy at first to operate but once you got used to it they served their business purpose and were quite robust in the early days.
