Blood test bills

Hi everyone,

I recently visited the doctor for a routine blood test panel. I received an itemized bill from the lab last week and promptly paid it. Imagine my surprise when I received a second bill two days later, for the exact same tests. There was a difference of < 1 CHF (cheaper) for one item, but otherwise the bill was identical. Has this happened to anyone before?

I've tried contacting the lab (Viollier), but they haven't responded. I'd just send it to my insurance company and let them fight it out, but I have an international insurance (not Swiss) so I'm afraid they'll reject the claim and I'll be out 200 CHF.

Welcome to the Forum.

I had something similar recently. I received a bill that covered two doctor visits. Five days after the first bill arrived, another bill came that duplicated most of the charges from one of the visit dates.

I sent an email with attachments of both bills, highlighting the duplicated charges. I asked them to cancel the newer bill and re-issue a correct bill, without the duplicated charges. They did so promptly.

You don't say how you tried contacting the lab. I found email worked for me, but you may find a registered letter works better for you.
