Bones And Raw Food 'BARF' diet

We are in the process of relocating to Zurich with our dog Sam. Sam is currently on the Bones And Raw Food " BARF" diet with phenomenal results. We would like continue with this diet in Switzerland, however I have been unable to find the name of a pet store that supplies prepared frozen raw food.

I attempted to visit a few pet stores on my last visit to Zurich but I could not find any store carrying BARF food items.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We get supply from www.carnivora.ch . I think they will ship it to your residence if you can't drive out there to pick it up. Great small company, all organic.

Our nearest Qualipet also has frozen raw meat in a freezer for purchase.

I hope this helps. Good luck with the move.

hi. we have a 4 month old lab who we are moving onto the barf diet. having just read Dr Ian Billinghurst's 'The Barf Diet', i am fairly confident enough ingredients can be found here (infact, i was not really aware you could buy prepared frozen meals!).

All of the following are easily found:

- chicken necks and wings

- recreational bones

- ground beef

- eggs

- Salmon Oil

. Cod Liver Oil

- Lamb ribs

. liver

. olive oil

- ox tail

- heart

- kidney

- rabbit chops

The author suggests you use whatever is available in your location. There is no strict recipe you must follow.

You will find enough vegetables to blend or pulp, and i have found supplements are easy to order online from the UK (im sure they are also available here, but its easier due to the language barrier).

This is what I was looking for thanks very much! The thought of putting him onto dry kebble was going to be very difficult. The next challange is him flying to Zurich.

Thanks for you response! We have a food store here dedicated to the BARF diet with 8 different brands. So it was disappointing not finding frozen meals in Zurich when I did my search; but thankfully we have found one lead which I will check out when I get to Zurich.
