Bonfire Night, anywhere?

Does anyone know of a Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes) in or around Geneva? I know about Jim's market one, but frankly it was a bit weird to all hang around in a car park. I prefer a field, a hill or a garden!

It's our big lad's birthday on Bonfire Night and we've always associated it with a bonfire. Ever since he's gone back to Scotland, it feels a bit of an empty night and I feel a bit lost without my boy (even though he left 4 years ago!). So something more celebratory would be lovely. Cheers.

Why would you want to celebrate a failed attempt to destroy parliament? You should only celebrate successes.

Nothing around Nyon.

Oh wait! I do know of a bonfire night. It happens during the night of 1 August every year.

I'd like to know some places in London where I could celebrate 1st August. Setting off huge fireworks too of course.

As he was a foreign terrorist trying to blow up a Scottish king, there isn't much to celebrate around here.

My grandparents were honorary members of the Swiss club (Swiss expats living in the UK) somewhere in the North West of England back in the 50's or 60's (long story), and were invited to their August 1st celebrations. Not sure if fireworks were involved though.

So not such a strange idea.

you mean something like this

lmgtfy.com <- just fill in which part of London you are visiting

I went to Jims first two years we were here.. Agree it was kinda odd, fireworks shooting up from behind the shop and a fire in the car park with the local pompiers standing with hoses ready..

However the chicken curry was excellent!!

It was much better before they built on the land next door and they were allowed to have it on there.

I haven't been since they started having to hold it in their car park.
