bonjela

Hi, I was wondering what the Swiss (german) equivilant was to Bonjela, and also any suggestions on how to ease or get rid of mouth ulcers, any help gratefully appreciated.

kill-or-cure...

Put a vitamin C tablet straight onto the ulcer...

hurts like ****, but works...

Rince mouth out with sal****er to decrease bacteria...

I've been into four different pharmacies in the past couple of months, and lal of them had staff who spoke great English and knew what is was I was trying to buy...and the local product...yesterday they even gave me free samples instead of selling me a big packet of something that I didn't really need...

Hiya,

Thanks I'll try anything, its Christmas and this cant go on.

I’m sure you’ve googeled and having done that understood that there are many underlying causes to ulcers such as virus infections , stress, bacterial infections, weakened immune system ...

Do try the vitamin C cure but also book an appointment with your dentist and doctor in 2009 to see why you have the problem even if vitamin C helps.

Happy Holiday

A dentist I saw couldn't do much but apply an ointment (for which he charged CHF120!) but the best advice he gave was to drink chamomile tea a few times a day. A dentist wouldn't know why it happens either; his guess is as good as what's on the Internet.

Flavour it with a teaspoon of honey if you don't like the chamomile taste.

It saved my life three winters ago. Chamomile is anti-inflammation and pain killing. I could actually eat between sips of the tea (have it lukewarm if hot is too hot!).

All the best! I can so relate to your pain.

A product called Pyralvex - it's based on rhubarb extract and it works. My husband swears by it and you can get it in any Apotheke.

BTW, mouth ulcers are called "aphten" in German (pronounced "aften")

Thanks everyone for all your replies and a Happy Christmas.

The direct equivalent of Bonjela in Switzerland is called Mundisal and you can buy it in any chemist.
