Bookkeeping charges

Hello all

I am thinking about setting myself up as a sole trader doing bookkeeping /accounting for business owners. This would involve booking all financial transactions in an accounting software (purchases/expenses, sales, adjustment journals), drawing up a P/L and a B/S for the external accountants to prepare statutory accounts and tax return.

Any idea what I should be charging here in Switzerland? Per hour? Per transaction? Do charges vary in different cantons? I have been googling info but can't find anything.

Alternatively, would it seem reasonable to use the hourly salary of an accountant as benchmark?

If any of you are bookkeepers here or using one, thank you for your help and sharing experience.

I am not an accountant but I have worked with bookkeepers.

- you can charge per hour

or

- if you know your client's business well enough (amount of work/transactions, complexity etc) you can also make a fixed price arrangement or a fixed percentage of the revenue.

I have been offered both.
