Boys with earings

I am quite an open person, but why do many boys aged 8 onwards wear earings. In my opinion it looks pretty doof. Is it me!

...it matches the mullet...

It is a tradition in a number of parts of Switzerland. Never looked at Swiss tourist posters of cow herds and cheesemakers from Appenzell, etc. ?

...yes, it is you.

It is traditional for many Appenzeller men to have earings. Usually they are on the right ear. (regardless of lifestyle).

It usually has a little bell or a cow in it too. I wondered if this was some way of identifying with their cows.

There is also the hangover of 80's mullet type of creatures. The abundance of earrings on men is something I have noticed.

Traditionally it's a farmer thing, but I see a lot guys are everything but farmers with cute earrings.

Dang. I hate to hijack this thread....but...

Today at the Zurich HB I saw a 70+ year old guy with a mullet toupee.

I hate to hijack it further (lest we ban ourselves) but I was thinking of starting a blog about the Swiss affinity for the bad haircut. The Jurassic black plumage with red streak for the ladies and the mullet for the men.

along with "trendy" Beckham -mohicans & faux-diamante earings in both ears ...

oh & nose studs ... wtf is it about them here ?

Once again, an affinity with their cows.

FFS, Amateur night at the Apollo...

I'll up the ante with my old avatars if you like.

A starter for 10

the fact that you have a site caled Mullet Junky bookmarked is rather disturbing chap ...

I posted these for you a couple of days ago, don't know if you've seen the men of the internet. Not as brutal as your usual, perhaps worth a casual glance though.

...are you insured for eye damage?

People look at me funny here for laughing at David Hasselhoff.

That must be all the hot blondes in my favourite chatrooms...

Can't say I've noticed an over-abundance of nose studs here (=Zurich).

However, there do seem to be a disproportionate amount of lower-lip piercings/studs/rings/things. Or, at least, I notice them more than anything else (other than the incredible amounts of eyeliner all the girls seem to wear here).

(Coming from Sydney, Oz.)

What is more disturbing is when you realise you know one of them.

It is a cultural thing. Absolutely nothing to do with making a fashion statement. Different hereditary lineages, and areas, have different types of ear-rings. If you want to ever give the impression you know nothing about Swiss culture - try laughing at the earing in a Swissies ear.

Shouldn't this post be moved to this thread:

Looking for appropriate men

Er... so they brand themselves as well as the cows?

So when they pop over the mountain to rape and pillage the next valley, they know who their own team is?
