We are relocating to the Zug area this Summer from Singapore. I need to think about what to send over in our shipping container; I've got quite a number of bottles of alcohol eg. Pimms, Vodka, Tequila, Gin, Bacardi etc. which I've purchased at various Duty Free shops on my travels as alcohol is so expensive in Singapore.
I have no idea how much spirits cost in Switzerland, but is it worth bringing them with us? (Some bottles have been opened but are mostly full, most are unopened). Is there a large amount of duty to pay in Switzerland?
There is a limit I don't remember what it is, but I think it's fairly high so definitely worth bringing over as much as you can. We brought over a combination of open and unopened bottles last year with no problems.
Good luck - and if you decide not to bring it have fun drinking it all ;-)
i moved from Singapore to Zurich and had a big alcohol haul 3 years back. the movers there will ask you to fill a form with the liters of alcohol you bring in, this form also has the upper limit which can be imported into CH.....but i was no where near this limit even with my 15-20 odd liters...unless you have far more. just be careful with the open bottles, i lost some spirit in transit...
Well on the same subject, any experience with shipping wine with household goods to the US? it appears one need an itemized list, and pay duty. How much? how much trouble?
