British School of Geneva vs Florimont vs Intitute international de Lancy

My son is coming from Ecolint in secondary, when my daughter is coming from Montessori school.

I'm thinking to consolidate my children in a single school.

I was thinking to move both to BSG because because several people give me the following feedback:

- Intitute Florimont, it is a traditional school .... really rigid..... too much homework.... (could you please provide your opinion)

- Institute International de Lancy, I have some 2 families that give really a bad review, cause bullying they have been forced to move their children in a different school. (could you please provide your opinion)

PLEASE ANYONE TO PROVIDE YOUR FEEDBACK ABOUT THE 3 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS WILL BE REALLY HELPFULL.

Kind regards

Pala

Hi, I'm new to the area and considering a number of schools. I know the fees at BSG are quite reasonable, but I have spoken to a few parents and others that know the school and I heard some worrying things - experienced teachers have left in droves, the principal has never been a teacher, other unqualified staff/management, poor facilities and parental communication, and I’ve heard some staff have been treated pretty poorly (eg sacked on the penultimate day of the school year with little or no justification). Can anyone give me any more information? How accurate is this?

The BEST teachers are at the International School of Geneva!

?

The best teachers are here!

OP - I worked with Florimont graduates and can't complain (or they did not, rather)

Is that Ecolint? Interested to hear if what I heard about BSG is accurate?

It is so relative to be irrelevant.

As for "hearsay" good luck with that, what i don't like, you may find fantastic

Not very helpful - I heard this from parents so it’s hardly hearsay. And in terms of everyone liking different things, I don’t want to be quite so flippant about my child’s education. It’s less about what I ‘like’, it’s about whether it’s fundamentally a good place to send my child to get a good education from motivated and qualified staff. Therefore, I’d like to know if what I heard can be corroborated by anyone.

It is Ecolint. A non-profit Foundation with outstanding results, highly qualified staff that stay (sometimes a bit too long), a huge support team for kids with learning difficulties, an ambitious new curriculum and innovative pedagogy that is getting recognition by the top international field experts.

Not often will you see a complete beginner kid jump from A1 to B1 or even B2 in languages, in less than 12 months.

Don't know much about British school nor the info you provided but maybe this will help.

Florimont is one of the few that do the swiss matu, if that is a curriculum you are considering, and because of the deal made with GVA, kids don't have to take the federal matu exam. IIL, Forimont, and ecolint all take kids to the end of secondary, mainly with the IB. Ecolint la chat also has small swiss matu possibility last I knew, but not the GVA ecolints. Also, last I knew, Florimont and IIL had a close partnership allowing kids to move up in/transfer to one or the other, making the transition more fluid.

What is good for you or your child may not suit somebody else and thus the feedback is positive/negative respectively.

Crap schools/businesses tend not to last too long.

State schools here are excellent, small classes, usually not more than 20 pupils, the problem most parents fail to understand is a childs' ability to learn a new language is nothing like their own; a child picks up a language fast, 6 months usually enough, whilst an adult takes far longer in general.
