Burger King vs McDonald's

McDonald's wins hands down.

I had the most awful chicken wrap at Burger King today. In fact, I threw the wretched thing out. The burgers were dry. There wasn't enough staff. And there was no soap in the bathroom.

These things do not happen at McDonald's.

McDonald's burger suck. They are flat and tasteless. Burger king have much better burgers.

I've been in McDonald's that wasn't clean and things were missing too.

So yes it happens there too.

I'm 75 and have been to neither Burger King nor McDonald's, which I suppose makes me a fast-food virgin.

Is it something I need to add to my bucket-list? In which case I'd better get on with it

Wendys , Hungry Jacks !

and those two I've never even heard of, so it's worse than I thought

Wendy's is the best indeed!

You might be adding them to your bucket list for more than one reason if you're not a fast-food fan

Hmmm. 2 cheese quarter pounders, 6 chicken nuggets, a mcflurry washed down with an obligatory cup of foul coffee. That's lunch fixed.

I used to routinely dine at the Golden Arches for lunch a few years back.

Then I got a significant other and everything changed...

I tend only to eat their signature burgers (BigMac/Whopper), as I've had indifferent disappointments from some of the other offerings - especially short term promotions.

Whopper does it for me, although due to scarcity of outlets, I end up eating more BigMacs - which have improved in recent times ..... since they kicked themselves up the jacksy (over their market share complacency), and went green ...... logo and décor; not environmentally.

Both onion rings and wedges make a change to salt sticks (fries).

MickeyD's failed big time, in the past, when they tried to imitate Burger Kings chargrilled flavour, with an artificial additive.

Finally, as my mate young Carl used to say:

"If it doesn't go all over the place, then it doesn't belong in your face"

Having a bucket on standby is probably the most sensible thing should you ever venture into one of these places.

However, speaking as a fast food hardened veteran, both have advantages and disadvantages, such as which one is nearer, and which one is further away from my present location.

Makes me think of my visit to my doctor - I was explaining about NOT going to "those places" here because of how expensive they are, he says "Yeah, they're f'n expensive!!!" (I was so shocked that my doc said that word to me!)

While my all-time favorite is not available here (Big Bacon Classic at Wendy's), I like the burgers at BK better than McD's but the fries at McD's are better than BK's.

Gosh, I could almost kill for a Wendy's Frosty now.

Isn't the price of a McD's burger a quick-look benchmark figure for the wealth of a country? I'm sure I read that somewhere - will have a Google around...

EDIT: Ah yes, here we go ...

SMH

Using Big Macs for your economics is about as smart as using them to tick off your 5 a day ;-)

Hungry Jacks is Burger King in Australia.

Well, quite. But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen...

You have not lived!

Maybe it's a bit late to tell me that

What exactly are those strange hard, chewy little bits in a Burger King burger anyways??

Actually, now there are both - it just started as Hungry Jacks because somebody else had copyrighted the name "Burger King" in Australia when the first Australian franchise agreement was signed ... this has now lapsed, so both names are around.

Among my friends in Australia, though, the big battle is between Nandos and Oporto (but most have gone with independent Portuguese chicken outlets, as the big names are too bland).

Oh, and I find both Burger King & McDonald's to be overpriced and of lower quality here ...

Yeah. Wendy's. Frosty.

I like mcd rather than bk. bk burgers have a weird taste IMHO.
