Buying a film offered only free on Amazon prime

Someone has recommended I watch the film “Good Night Oppy”. The only place I’ve been able find it is Amazon.de and there it is offered free to Amazon Prime subscribers. There doesn’t appear to be an option to buy it with cold hard cash/plastic.

Is there a way around this?

Amazon Prime trial period, watch it, cancel your trial.

Not until it’s released on dvd or to another content provider. Amazon want you to subscribe.

Generic IPTV? Torrent?

Found a rip on torrents site --> so you can just do this

Or as most said --> subscribe for 7 days, and unsubscribe afterwards (might cost you 1 euro--> you will get it back) [and if it's a region thing use a VPN --> I presume in your case a german one, I wanted to watch a french series which was only available to the US, so switched to US VPN]

Good luck

Go to primevideo.com and do the free 30-day trial.

Otherwise, you could check to see if it's available on youtube to rent. Youtube has films to rent for just a few CHF.

P.S. Thank you for the suggestion. I didn't even know that film exists. I just saw the trailer, and it looks like something that me and my 11-year old would also really enjoy.

If you still can't find a way to watch it, please send me a PM...

Tried this, you need a UK based credit card and even then it doesn't work as they know you are not in -UK....

the film is available on prime Switzerland too. just tried it with my subscription.

What do you mean you need a UK based credit card? I have a normal Prime subscription for over a year now with my Swiss credit card. Later, if you need, you can route it via a VPN to any country you want, but the initial sign-up is easiest done in CH

Nonsense Biro statement #8235.

Sign up through amazon.de it all works fine.

Thanks Everyone for your suggestions.

Some months ago I got sucked in to 'subscribing' to prime without realising I had. It was only after the 30 days and I started getting billed did I realise. I cancelled it immediately, so no more free trials.

Why would anyone in Switzerland subscribe to Prime? No free delivery which is the main draw.

Prime Video, the Netflix and Disney competitor

But you can get Prime Video without signing up to Amazon Prime, can't you?

Prime Video has some great series (at least to me brought up on airport novels) - Reacher, Jack Ryan, and Bosch to name three.

Actually, amazon.de is offering free delivery to Switzerland now on many of its products, as long as your total is 39 CHF or more. They just started doing that a couple months ago. It's only for items that ship from the Amazon warehouse in Germany, though (but many of the items sold on amazon.de are shipped from there).

I was curious, so I just looked it up, and you’re right! It says this:

“You do not need to have an Amazon Prime membership to use Prime Video. Customers are able to purchase or rent a selection of titles from the Prime Video catalog, without needing an Amazon Prime or Prime Video membership. Purchases from the Prime Video Store are automatically charged to your 1-Click payment method.”

Well if I go to primevideo.com all I get are prompts for a trial membership.

Yeah, I guess you'd have to sign up for that then. Or did you say that you already once did their trial membership and so it wouldn't let you do it again? I wonder if you'd be able to do another trial with a different email address.

If there was a way I could somehow record it for you through my computer or TV, I would! Or maybe I could hook up a webcam, face it toward my computer screen and turn up the volume.

Thanks Pancakes. I now have a plan B. Brother-in-law arrives tomorrow and he’s got Amazon UK prime. My VPN can connect to a UK server and we hopefully can stream it to our not-so-smart TV.

I just find it frustrating that I’m willing and able to pay for it, but they would rather have my data and my soul.

I tried to use a family’s U.K. Amazon over VPN - didn’t work.
