I just have one question regarding the daily pass. I have to select a start and end destination when purchasing it on the bus or online, does it mean that I can only travel between those 2 bus stops with the daily pass, or anywhere within the zone?
So I live in St.Gallen where the entire city is covered by 1 bus zone. I bought monthly passes so far, but I just found out that the half-fare card works on the daily pass, so it is not worth it for me to get the monthly pass.
Get the Fairtiq app and stop worrying…
Fairtiq is so good the CFF have licensed their technology to use in their App.
A Tageskarte for Zone 210 covers the entire zone. Abtwil and Wittenbach are together in a separate zone, that may be why you're to enter start and end.
There's also a short distance ticket for up to 5 stops, one-way and valid only in zone 210 for 30mins. That may be why you're to enter start and stop.
I see, so as long as I'm in the zone I should be fine even if I enter different start/end locations right?
Yes. It won't hurt to check the ticket, it says what it is. I believe its price is unique.
If the Ostwind App is like the ZVV app, than you can easily buy day passes for your zone, and also digital multi trip tickets. With a multi trip ticket you save even more:
I believe Tageskarte for VBSG are unavailable as a multi-ticket thingy where you buy 4-6-8 and stamp to use.
As you could have seen for your self, there are multi-tickets:

(Like VBZ is part of ZVV, VBSG is part of Ostwind)
