Buying things from the big ones like OBI etc

If one checks out an article in internet lets say from OBI and want to collect and buy it it why cant they also provide at least an aisle number so one knows exactly where to look instead of wandering around the whole market or having to bother an employee for its whereabouts? Or do they want one to wander around so that you might buy more?

If you look up then you will see the aisles are labelled with the product types.

Don’t know about OBI, but Hornbach’s website gives your the aisle number for each article. There is also this tremendously useful information counter at the entrance.

At Hornbach I just order for pick up for that reason if it’s a one item. Is that possible at Obi?

Yes it is.

That might be so. But the other day when I wanted to buy some steel wool and I had to run around the whole warehouse. Eventually had to ask staff.

At Obi you can order to collect. They do the running around for me, all I do is go as far as the information desk and pay. Done that for years now, very comfortable. Goods - if on stock - are ready within a couple of hours, definitely next day (I usually order at night anyway :grinning:).
Landi h as that offer too.
