Calling all Bollywood Fans

Hello All

I am trying to collate some information about Bollywood Films made in Switzerland.

Can anyone tell me the names of the films made and which locations they were filmed in.

I know that Engelberg, Lausanne, Zurich, Jungfraujoch, Mount Titlis and Mount Hahnen have been used but I don't know which films they appear in.

I would be particularly interested in films made in the Berner Oberland region.

Any useful info would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

I saw one being shot in Bern about 2 months ago. I witnessed one scene on Zyglogge..

To those of you that think I have not googled this and not already found out as much as I can, I can assure you I have. There is little information about actual places tied in with specific movies and virtually no useful detail.

As someone who is used to researching for various types of projects I simply wanted to to make use of another avenue especially being a to the forum

Thanks to those able to add constructive assistance.

I think I found something here ...

bollywood+switzerland

I picked a few films which say they were made partly in Switzerland. You'll probably find some more.

Thanks for the info

This is the sort of thing I've mostly come across. It's very generalised but does not give precise location information.

Hello,

Are you still looking for Bollywood locations? I know a few, I had tried to make a list i can find it if you're still interested...

Hi Medovnik,

I would be interested in knowing the list. Would it be possible for you to post it here ? Thanks in advance

You could also look up the director/producer Yash Chopra http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0007181/

There was a thread some time ago about a famous scene from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge being filmed in Saanen.

I don't have many but here are the places i recognized or that I've been told about by some friends:

In Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge , tujhe dekha to: The church SRK and Kajol visit is in fact 2 different churches, one for the outside, one for the inside. Both churches are in Montbovon (FR). In Saanen is the bridge where they dance.

In Yaraana , Noorani Chehrewale : Madhuri dances in the castle of Gruyères

In the song Dil to pagal hai - they are in Europapark (in Germany, but close to Switzerland)

In Mausam , several times we see Zurich train station (supposed to be Edinbourgh), also Shahid sees Sonam asleep in the train Glacier Express .

In Laaga Chunari Mein Daag , Rani and Abhishek meet in Luzern, you can recognize the famous Kapellbrücke, and the clocktower.

In Chandni - Rishi gives a phone call from Geneva airport (you can recognize the yellow escalators)

That's all I could find, I thought I had more. I'll add some if I remember more

Google really is your friend. Look what i found for you

Anyhoo, after seeing the song Akele Akele a gazillion times, it seems to have been shot at Muerren, visible as the Cable car departs the Cable car station. Friday evening well spent

I knew the brochure from filmlocation.ch, unfortunately it contains no interesting information if you look for precise location names with movie names, let alone movie scenes.

Bollylocations.com is much more interesting, thanks for the link!

In the meantime i also came across that site, in german, but has more detailed information and a very long list of films.
