I have a case of the dreaded dust bunnies on my Nikon dSLR camera and I'm not quite up to cleaning the sensor myself. Does anyone know of a decent camera service shop in Basel, and have some idea on how much I should be paying?
I had the sensor of my Sigma cleaned at that camera shop at Bankverein and I remember it was not as extortionate as I feared. The sensor still has dirt on it, however. That place quoted a price much cheaper price than the camera shop at the Marktplatz end of Freiestrasse.
Can you recommend cleaning kits for sensors? I want to have a go at it myself as I will need to do this from time to time. I didn't pay a lot of money for the camera and want it to stay that way or it has to go.
I bought a Lenspen from 7dayshop in the UK for literally a couple of quid. I must admit I was nervous the first couple of times that I used it but Wow what a difference afterwards. They're good for about 50 uses after which you can buy another couple.
The only problem with 7dayshop is that they don't deliver to Switzerland so I had them send it to my sister's address.
If you aren't sure, then by all means send it to a prefessional
Thanks. I'll see if I can get one from somewhere. I'm prepared to risk ruining the camera as it didn't cost me much. It's a Sigma SD10. When the sensor is clean and in the right conditions it can take spectacular small photos suitable for webbing but if I ruin it then it does not matter.
I've had it professionally cleaned, had to take it back to be cleaned again properly, and still I see spots when I stop down to f11 so I don't think a blower is going to help in this instance.
Hi all - just resurrecting this old thread to find out whether anybody knows where I can find a sensor cleaning service for my husband's Sony A300 DSLR in the Schaffhausen/Zurich area.
We live in Schaffhausen, but I doubt there would be somewhere here that provides such a service! Obviously, Zurich is our next big bet. Or maybe even Winterthur.
Try Foto Baeren in Zürich. they're generally fairer priced than some of the others. You could also try Digifuchs, but I don't have much experience with them. http://www.fotobaeren.ch/http://www.digifuchs.ch/
