I am from Asian and holding a B permit now and work in a company here. Does anyone know as an non-european here, can I take some unpaid leave from my job? Because the B permit I am holding here is associated with my job, I am not sure whether that is allowed?
Definitely allowed. Years ago I considered it for one of my team, who said he needed it to deal with stress. But in discussions with HR we decided it was best he see the company doctor first. Good job we did - he had a brain tumour. Of the sort that - you need to come to the hospital now. Do not drive yourself.
There could be many reasons for wanting unpaid leave. Could be to travel to one's home country for an extended period. Or it could be to remain here but look after an ill family member or deal with a personal situation.
Could even be wanting to take time off to renovate one's own property. I know someone who wanted time off for that.
I've concluded nothing. There is not enough information to conclude anything. If it's any help, I can understand how you concluded that I concluded it was related to stress.
But yes, if you feel the need for unpaid leave due to stress, do see a doctor first. You might even get signed off sick, and no need to lose income.
@OP, be aware that if you have 24 days paid leave a year (say) and you take one month's unpaid leave, your holiday entitlement will most likely drop to 22 days paid leave. You don't accrue holiday entitlement during unpaid leave.
