I am looking to buy a projector to watch movies and play some playstation. It will be in the living room and some ambient light will come in in the afternoon. The projector will be around 4-5meters away from the wall.
Any recommendation? Something that is value for the money.
Panasonic PT-AX200E, 16:9, 2000 ANSI Lumen, Game Mode
Available at digitec for about 1295 Sfr.
We have this and the previous model (as backup) as use it for our classes. It's a great projector and for the purpose you describe, should work wonders. Be sure to by a projector screen (ground glass reflective finish) for the best image.
I'm planning on getting the Sanyo PLV-Z3000 which has a decent review here http://www.projectorreviews.com/sany...3000/index.php but most important to me, the cost/effectiveness of the projector is really quite good. It's not necessary the top machine but the picture quality is very good. You can find them online or pick-up from somewhere like Digitec http://www.digitec.ch/?param=toppreise&wert=160327 You can read the reviews at the Digitec site too. It's mostly positive stuff.
Also, the depth of the machine isn't quite as thick as others and will fit on many bookshelves.
Landi currently have an Acer P1340W for CHF499/ HD compatible with keystone correction (3 year guarantee). An early Christmas present for OH who has spent lots of time since retirement digitalising all his (1000s) of slides. It's small, lightweight, and come with a carrying case. We've just tried it and it is excellent quality- no distortion - and much much cheaper than all the others he looked at. Landi? Yes a great surprise!
Does any one have any input on currently available beamers? I'd like to buy a newer LED model, and not spend a fortune. Not looking for a top of the line model- (blue ray quality, 3D, etc), just something to watch movies at home with a decent screen size and image quality. The content will come primarily from internet streaming through a Macbook, as I dont want to spend $ on cable or satellite TV. Any help would be appreciated...
