Can I take a shower every day?

Keyword is "trying". You take a hint well

Scary ??

Scary like "scary movie"

It would only be useful if the nationality could be added, too, seeing as the OP was stating that people seem to shower less in Switzerland.

éponge, lavette or bare hands ?

bio-soap, natural oils or migros soap ?

People in Switzerland definitely shower less. Everytime we had visiters from Switzerland in the US, I noticed that they would go to bed without showering, actually skip the bathroom completely,,and I wondered hey,,what about the teeth???. Could never understand it. Anyway, they will also wear the same clothes for two days in a row. Just air it a little outside, and it is good for another day or two. Always amazed me. My husband ( Swiss) once told me that it is the way it is. As a kid they bathed only twice a week, and everyone shared the same towel....eeeekk.

Different strokes for different folks.

Yes, and as long as everyone is happy.

ha ha ha !! said it was a funny thead

Perhaps the Swiss don't shower in the evening because of the rule you can't bathe or shower after 10 pm, although to be honest, I find showering before bed a bit weird. Most people I know (variety of nationalities) only shower first thing in the morning and that does fine.

As for changing clothes every day - underwear and anything worn next to the skin, yes but, outer stuff like jumpers and whatnot? Isn't that a bit of a waste of washing facilities/energy?

My feeling is also that you can be too clean. I grew up with a friend whose mother was one of these absolutely clinical cleaners. Their house was spotless and sterilised and their daughter was also scrubbed nightly in the bath. It may or may not be a coincidence but she was full of allergies and constantly sick.

Admiration for Michael Jackson should be limited to his work as an artist and should not extend to following his lifestyle.

Note to self: No more shaking hands with pubescent Swiss boys.

Or men... with little sex that goes on in this country I would be carefull with the grown ups too.

What's wrong with wearing the same (non underwear) clothes twice? Do you wash your jeans after every single wear, if so how dirty are they, could you just fold them up and fool yourself?

I'm not sure about the teeth, I've come across some people here with really bad breath, but there were plenty of those in North America too so it's hard to generalize.

Pre puberty there really isn't a need to bath every day, I would go with every second day, but twice a week is by no means ridiculous, so long as you don't smell. And if the towel is being used after and not before bathing I equally don't see the problem, if bathing is so important it should make you clean enough that you don't mess up the towel, it might be bad if it was always wet, but if you only bathe twice a week that probably wouldn't be a problem.

clothes more than one day ?

Trousers, hats, jackets and sweaters, yes ( unless they stink or are visibly dirty )

underwear, socks, shirts, no. Only one use and then to the laundry box.

be careful with girl's hands too

I cannot believe this thread is on page 5 already... can't anyone delete? jeez, it has turned into an etiquette sparring match...

Please, tell me you are lying...

PS: With a less-then-20-minutes-twice-a-week-shower, I'm not sure the towel would be really clean...

Ps2: Sharing the towel can create a funny situation:

Father: Andreas your sister is pregnant, did you masturbate in the towel?

Double entendres and general silliness are one thing, but that last post is downright revolting.

I smell trollery.

What?

They are not interested in sex? How?

Wife: "Honey, let's make some love?"

Husband: "Come on... We did it last month..."

Ps: Please, don't tell me there's a law saying you can't have sex after 10pm.

Ps2: Actually I don't really believe in this. They wake up everyday at 4pm, I'm pretty sure the grown ups have sex 2 or 3 times before going to work...
