Can you right Refusé on the envelope and have it returned to sender at their cost? This is worse than the pub ...
We seem to be on the target list for every realtor within 200km. Almost every day we get pist offering their various services which we don’t want.
For sure you can.
I was told this could not happen, but here we are. Be patient, they’re literally losing their way of living:
You can also cancel your mail
Rather than the usual gumpf addressed to 'Homeowner at ' estate agents are now addressing their 'Do you want to sell your house?' fishing mail to me by name.
Which, as I understand it, means that I can't refuse it, as with a name it is no longer considered junk mail. Is this correct?
Some of these cheeky barstewards poor unfortunate souls whose blood sucking activities living is threatened are now even offering cash for info on other neighbors who might be thinking of selling.
The worst of these are the 'I see you are now old and decrepit, isn't it time to shuffle off to the Altersheim and pay me to sell your house?' approach. What marketing genius thought that would be a good way to establish a client relationship?
You can put a cross through your name and address and write return to sender on it and put it in a post box to go back to them. They will remove you from their lists pretty sharpish once they start having to pay for returned mail.
Retour à l'expéditeur,
Retour à l'envoyeur,
Renvoi à l'expéditeur,
Renvoi à l'envoyeur?
The good thing about returning it to sender is that they have to pay the return postage. Once you've done this a couple of times, they'll remove you from their lists. Also works with charities who send you junk you don't know what to do with, aren't prepared to pay for throwing away, etc.
I’d use the first option.
How does Barnes in GVA get our name and address, I'd like to know?
You can buy address lists filtered by all kinds of demographics (property owners for example). Swisscom flogs such lists for example, though you're more likely to end up with phone calls rather than letters from them. I too got a Barnes thing. I get 2 or 3 a week at the moment.
