I was an exchange student studying in Lausanne and in March I subscribe to my Swisscom phone number. When I did so, the staff promised me that after six months I could cancel the contract for free with my departure declaration if I left Switzerland.
When I went to the Swisscom store on July 13 to cancel my subscription, the staff also checked and uploaded my departure declaration and said that there was no problem.
But today I received a fine of 1560chf for not ending my contract after the minimum period. I have left Switzerland now and I would like to ask what to do in this case.
Before thinking too much, please consider it may just be a mistake. So, contact them, tell the story, state there's a mistake and wait for an answer. Worst thing can happen is the problem is solved.
If not you need to start finding the contract the part about "free cancellation after 6 months provided the customer leaves Switzerland"
Am I missing something? OP took out the contract in March with free cancellation after six months providing customer is leaving Switzerland. Then cancelled in July, +/- four months later?
Thanks! I have contacted them, and wait for their answer.
YES! I should have checked all the details of the contract, and I have contacted them Hope it's a mistake
Oh maybe it's the reason, but when I went to the store to cancel my subscription, they checked all the details of my subscription. I will contact them for seeking a solution. THANKS!
