Cancelling insurance and phone contracts when leaving Switzerland

Hi,

How does cancellation of Swiss insurances work? I have insurances with Assura (travel insurance), Helsana (complementary health), KPT (obligatory health), Generali (household), and Group Mutuel (legal). They all have a minimal duration of the contract, and it seems they all need 3 months' notice before the end of the year on which the minimum duration expires to cancel them.

When I leave Switzerland, do insurances get canceled automatically even if the minimal contract duration and the 3-month notification window aren't respected?

I also have a mobile phone contract with Salt to cancel. It has a min duration of 2 years which expires 6 months after my planned departure from Switzerland, and they need 60 days' notice before the min duration deadline to cancel.

What happens with the phone contract when I leave Switzerland? Can I cancel it without respecting the min contract duration period?

The obligatory health insurance yes, once you deregister you can cancel it.

For the other ones, you need to check what you signed/ the contracts and the terms (AGB). I really doubt that all of them can get canceled without the notice period because you are leaving the country

But that doesn't make sense: I'm pretty sure most of those insurances don't cover me outside Switzerland. So if I leave, how can they continue coverage?

So I checked the terms for my contracts. Only for Salt and for Helsana Complementary insurance I did not find any mentions of its validity upon departure from Switzerland. Other contracts either mention that indeed they cancel on departure, or the min duration is expiring early enough.

What did you find out?

Were you able to cancel the Salt contract early?

They are telling me that I need to pay 200 CHF just to cancel -- more than the monthly bills remaining
