Hello fellow crab meat lovers. Is there any place to get canned crab meat in Zurich?...or fresh but not in shell.
Thanks for the advice!

Have a look at the fresh fish counter in the coop failing that i am betting Globus (downstairs) sell`s it i get alot of yummy things there that you can`t buy in normal shops
You can find it at Globus - one can is around 9 CHF and the other is 23 CHF - yikes!
Last weekend I bought it at an Asian shop in Oerlikon for 4 CHF a tin and it was great.
Hi
I found some in Migros (Thalwil) alongside the tinned tuna, salmon etc.. It's called Krabbenfleisch, and is in a bright blue 170g tin. Not tried it yet so can't comment on quality. Price 3.20 CHF
you can get it almost everywhere in delicatessen such as globus deliatessa, but be warned it comes at a kings ransom
I've also bought it in Migros I use it for baked crap dip and in crab cakes. The more expensive tins usually have a high amount of claw meat in them the less expensive none.
You can buy it in Ikea (it also comes in a tube-creamed crab meat), its much cheaper than Globus and Jelmoli.

What does crab taste like, never had it just the thought of eating it makes me shudder, tried Lobster, and didn`t like that
Lots of people enjoyed the crab dip I made last Saturday Sutter, you'd already eaten so you probably didn't try it.
2 tins of crab meat. (migros)
2 tubs of Philadelphia soft cheese (Migros)
good squirt of creamed horseradish.
white wine half-1 dcl.
Put all contents into a bowl mix well, season with black pepper put in an oven proof dish and bake for about 40 mins at 200 gas 6.
Serve with corn chips and/or vegie sticks.
ah yes, forgot to ask you for this! thanks also
i've seen it in the asian shops...not bought any, but i'm sure it's cheaper than globus....
My Favourite Canadian Recpie:
60 fresh mushrooms
2tsp vegetable oil
2 tsp chopped garlic
2 8 oz packages cream cheese
2tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup minced green onions
2 6 oz cans crabmeat drained and flaked
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
Cook at 350 for 20 minutes
That's a list of ingredients not a recipe, not even a name. How about Crazy Canadian Crab Concoction?
You can also get it online from Asia shops such as this:
