Car mechanics - South germany

Hi, does anyone have details of a good reasonable car mechanic in the south of germany?

The swiss garage is ridicuolously expensive and is not feasible to fix here.

How long is a piece of string…?
What car, do you require a Vertragswerkstatt or a guy with a screwdriver a hammer and a can of WD-40 and where in South Germany do you want to find one ?

Where exactly in South Germany?

The one in the town my parents live in is good (and the Google reviews seem to back it).

He used to be very cheap, but it seems prices have gone up there, too, according to my parents.

Still, likely cheaper than in Switzerland.

However, I don’t know if he can provide a loaner. Then, you’d be stuck in this little village on the boarder of Switzerland for a day….

I think it really depends on what car you have.
For me → Land Rover / and I live in the ZH area → so the main RR “experts” are Emil Frey … and they cost … a lot
So, for normal oil changes and the “easy” stuff I go to ATU in Konstanz … 150 euros for an oil change + oil filter change —> but last time they fucked up a sensor and I still have “service required” on my dash → and can not delete it with both versions : “manual” or diagnosis tool
For the really expensive stuff → I went to my home country

I liove in Zurich so, looking at somewhere that will be cost effective to transport a car that wont run and get it fixed. The job required on the car is quite substantial - new fuel system

Ok, have to ask. What car is it?

Makes sense to want cheaper options, if it were the kind of 1500 Euro rustbucket like I tend to drive I would not bother.

If it’s the same as with a 3 series, I would consider dumping it.

A coworker got quoted a 5 figure sum for that.

Didn’t stop him from getting another 3-series.

It’s a bit trickier here, from what I saw, with dumping your car.
Off-course it depends on a lot of factors …but I could give you my situation :
I would estimate my car would be worth around 12 k , here in CH … has some issues , but overall runs good … I do have a lot of km with it.
Now, I want to sell it → problem is that most ppl when they see that mileage will say pass … and the “companies” that mostly just sell everything to Germany offer you 5 k.
Makes sense you would not want to sell it for that value … but you know it would be a hard sale also here … so, what to do

But your car still runs and hasn’t self-destructed the engine like I suppose OPs 3series did?
