I am gradually starting to look for a new job. I am interested in Senior role in IT/Telecommunication sales in Zürich. Examples of excellent companies are Microsoft, Cisco, EMC, Swisscom, for example.
I would be keen on attending a Career Fair where I could meet and discuss with potential employers and head hunters.
It seems that there interesting career fairs on-going / under construction in Lausanne and in Zug, but do you know any other upcoming events?
Especially in Zürich?

Expat-Expo Zurich 01 September 2013

Has anyone got info on a previous fair like this on its value for meeting recruiters or getting work opportunities or is it more an info day for what Switzerland has to offer expats`?
thanks
Unfortunately, not that much I would think. It’s more an info day for people already here.
The problem is that you’re non-EU so getting a job here is that much more difficult. This is what any employer has to go through to have a chance of employing you:

Unless your skills/experience are outstanding or you can fill a niche in the market, it’s going to be very difficult.
Thanks for the link, very informative.
Do you think that the EU quota having been reached and on hold until May 2014 will give us Non EU - 3rd Country folks a better chance`? or has that changed again?
Difficult to say. The thing is that the quota only applies to the five year B permits that get issued, it has no effect whatsoever on L permits. So if a company applies for a B and the quota is filled an L will be issued instead. Daft I know as the measure is supposed to be helping to prevent an influx of foreigners, but the Free Movement Agreement between the EU and Switzerland doesn’t give the Swiss much manouvering room.
In any case the rule of employing a Swiss, EU national or someone else already living here who has a valid work permit will still put them ahead of any non-EU’s applying.
It really depends on whether your field of expertise is one that’s in demand in Switzerland.
Hi All!
I have started looking for career fairs in Switzerland as well, but it seems there aren't that many. I can only find fairs for students and graduates, for example this one in Winterthur:

Does anybody know of any other fairs?
Many thanks!
Not that I’ve heard of. I don’t think it’s a Swiss sort of thing. Otherwise, it’s the usual job advertising places: papers, websites, etc. Try these and see what you find.
