English speaking; 8 hours or so a day.
This is for a non-resident, so will be privately paid.
Does anyone know what this should cost, and roughly how to do this?

You might browse through the Senior Service 24 platform, that should give you an indea of what private carers charge in your area.
If you wanted to hire someone through them, you'd have to sign up for membership.
If you hire privately, be sure you check insurance issues. And bonafides, of course.
Quitt should be able to help you with the administrative end.
Alternatively, a company providing in-home senior services might be an easier solution. One such is Home Instead:
https://www.homeinstead.ch/Seniorenb...yAAEgKq__D_BwE
Short term help is offered.
It looks like the daily tarrif starts at 225/day. I assume prices would vary depending on need.
Hope a good solution can be found.
https://www.spitex-lenzburg.ch/
Spitex means hospital-external home care.
They provide nurses, as needed, or household help. For residents insured in Switzerland, the nursing - but not the household help - is included in the basic compulsory medical insurance, as long as a doctor prescribes it. If your person from abroad has any insurance from their country, might that cover part? Otherwise you'd get a monthly bill.
You could also ask at the Red Cross , which supplies helpers, some as volunteers, some at an hourly rate.

There's also cléa , which is a mix-and-match platform for assistants/carers/helpers.
https://assistenzplattform.clea.app/marketplace
You can select the place, and also the language.
Then there's the assistenzbüro , which has similar ads to those in cléa

Here's an ad in tutti , from a private person
No medical knowledge is needed - primary tasks are to transfer him from bed to wheelchair and back, push him to the bathroom/TV room, etc.
Food is ready, and tablets just need to be popped out of the packets for him... (oh and put up with his grumpy moods sometimes).
Payment is private -dad is resident in London.
https://www.im-alter-daheim.ch
Their website says it takes seven days (after signing a contract) to provide services, but that in 'dringenden Fällen' a quicker solution might be possible.
Also, there is a Tertianum in Lenzburg. This is not in-home care, so not really what you are looking for, but they do offer short stays, availability dependent. Maybe a bridge solution if they have space at the moment?
