My Honda ST 1100 Pan European has been sadly neglected, I think I have only done around 3000km’s this year.
She needed new tires, new brakes, an oil change and TüV, it took me a while for things to be just right.
But eight weeks ago I took her to the Werkstatt where I normally go just in time for their annual holiday, three weeks off and no other garage around that offers the same price for good work before end of September.
(Nobody wants to work anymore)
Of course the guy who does the bikes slashed his forearm and was off for more weeks.
But in the end I got my bike back, looking spanking new.
They found one or two things on the left exhaust that needed welding, so they did that as well for no extra charge.
I really like this garage.
Drove home, manages 20km’s and the right exhaust fell off…
Sheered off at the mixpot.
So I took the exhaust to the garage and he swaged a piece of pipe to the stump, again no extra cost.
And this afternoon I tried to fix the exhaust back on, only the previous owner has done a fantastic job, only the best was good enough. I mean the mix pot (where four pipes run into the box and out to the two exhaust pipes.)
The entire system is made from aircraft tailpipe grade after-market pipes, except the two end bits. I tried to get the stump of the sheered off exhaust out, but the previous owner had hot soldered them in place and now I have no idea how to get that bit out.
Used it, doesnt work.
I think I will try to ger a pipe with 38mm brutto diameter and try a stent.
