Thanks in advance.
How and where does one obtain a certificate of non pursuit for Geneva or Vaud if not yet resident in Switzerland. I'll be moving to work in GE in a few months and need to start applying for housing soon - hence requiring the Certificate. I'll be doing this from the UK, with intermittent rips to GE.
Once you have registered... you just go to the relevant "Office des Poursuites" in Geneva or Vaud and ask for a copy of the register. You pay the fee and you should have a clean certificate. You can't get one until you are resident.
can we go to any office in the region or only the one we registered? There are quite a few in Lausanne City so I am confused...
Many years ago I got this from Canton Vaud by just going to the "gemeinde" or "villege" - in my case it was Nyon, were I was registered. You can get it i think from the tax office there i think, they'll direct you. Never had to go to Lausanne or anything like that.
You don't need this as a new-arrival in the country..
When I arrived having neither the non-porsuite nor 3 months (swiss) payslips, the regies (big well known ones) were happy to accept a letter from my employer.. Just basically that i had an open ended contract and got paid lots of money ..
Your mileage may vary depending on regies / owners.. But I assume it's rather common and they know how to deal with it.
Edit ::: Dammit i hate when i reply to an old thread!!
Not to worry, Blueberry Ben bumped the thread today with a question.
I *think" you can go to any office but why don't you do it online? The difference is only CHF 1.-!

EDIT: Confirmed...... in Vaud you can go to any office.
