CFA recognition

This one's for the bulls and bears in this forum

Ok I know there is a 'Swiss CFA Society'.

But generally speaking, how well is a CFA qualification recognised here, especially when one is considering a job-switch/salary-hike?

I have heard on more than one occasion from my Swiss friends that an MBA is after all 'just another Masters degree' ! Whereas in US/UK and other parts of the world, an MBA from a good school would be one of the most sought after thing to put on your CV!

So was wondering if CFA also gets the same sidelined treatment here...

Hello devinder2801,

I believe that a diploma/certification is an "entry criteria" for some positions. In addition to experience, of course.

When in a position, results (and politics ) count.

BTW, I have both the CFA certification and an MBA.

Cheers

Serge

CFA will help you a lot when it comes to trying to find a job in Zurich. It's certainly recognised and you'll often see it as a requirement in job descriptions.
