I went to a very nice "do "last night and had 3 glasses of Champagne( a good one)!
Today, I feel sooooo awful - which my neighbour kindly verified
She proceeded to tell me that of all the drinks - she never touches champers because just one glass makes her feel ill.
As the EF has many "social drinkers" - is this a common thing?
I know that I will not touch it again and will stick to my Vaudoise wines
Yes, it happens. I don't like champagne...
Also, the more expensive the champagne... the less hangover.
Don't shy away from it. Keep chucking it down the ole throat and get some practice. It will get better with practice
It does it for me as well. New Years Day is always bad for me. Bloody Marys seem to help the morning after.
I went to a nice "do" last night too
only the cheap stuff gives me a terrible hangover, anything half decent eg Mumm / Moet and above and generally I don't get a hangover at all.
The really cheap stuff gives me a headache in a matter of minutes after drinking it, god knows what s**t they put in it.
I don't usually have a problem with Champagne---well at least the sparkling wines that I've tried, apart from the price.
I notice that my hangovers are exponentially severe when I change the format of alcohol consumption. Even beer brands.
Even at Outback, starting with Strongbow to Fosters to Calanda killed me in the morning eventhough I really didn't drink too much.
The Liquor before beer rule usually is safe for me, although I'm not to interested to paying the Zurich prices for Rye'n'cokes here.
Thats your problem right there, both of those are just chemical mixes rather then brews.
Champagne. If ever there was a gateway beverage then that would be it.
Knocked back to celebrate something, and then it's onto whatever is at the back of the fridge/dusty in the liquor cabinet/available at the Kiosk.
Stick to one (or less) glass of the gassy stuff and move onto something else less celebratory. You'll be celebrating the next morning.
