Change of canton and delay for C permit for EU citizen

Hello everyone,

I know that a EU citizen can apply for C permit after 5 years in Switzerland.

I am wondering whether a change of canton of residence would reset the 5 year to 0? Or delay the process by a couple of years?

I looked around in this forum and some claim it does and some claim it does not.

Did anyone go through this recently or has official confirmation on the process?

By reset to 0, I meant that I would need to spend another 5 years in the new canton before applying for C permit. Sorry if that was not clear enough.

No it doesn‘t reset.

However, when changing cantons, the rules, criteria and procedures of the new canton will then apply, both for the C-permit and, later, if desired, for applying for naturalisation.
