Changed Management Company in Rental Property

Good Day All,

I am renting apartment in the hotel in Kanton Schwyz.

In January 2022 this hotel was sold to another Management Company which plans to demolish the whole building and build new residential complex.

Do you know what notice they need to give me leave the property?

If he wants to terminate the rent, he needs to respect the terms of the contract between you and the previous owner.

There is a special rule for Eigengebrauch.

Become a member of Mieterverband if you are not alreaedy. And ask them if tearing down is Eigengebrauch. I doubt it but those are the experts.

You really need to become a member of the Mieterverband if you rent. It's not expensive and they will help you.

I was a member of the Swiss Romand version when I was a landlord. They had much better information than the Owner’s association.

A very smart forum member (I forget who) described the Mieterverband as an organization that provides legal expertise for a tiny fraction of what a lawyer would charge for the same advice.
