I have already changed health insurance: resigned from current one, signed for another. However I’ll be soon moving, in January, and found out that the new insurance is quite expensive in the new place.
Can I still resign from the new health insurance before it begins to sign up for another one?
I don’t know the answer to your question but the difference in price has to do with the canton you live in. So better check the other insurances first as you may find out they are all more expensive at your new home.
It is not possible to cancel your basic insurance due to a move, even if the premium or model changes. Changing your basic insurance is only possible as part of a regular cancellation at the end of the year. Exception: Your previous basic insurance does not offer its services at your new place of residence - in this case you are even forced to change your insurer, even outside of the regular cancellation dates.
That’s not exactly answer to my question. I’d like to withdraw from the contract before it begins, but I’ve already signed for it.
PS. I had in mind the eventual move, but comparis didn’t show me the insurer in the new canton so I assumed I’ll have to change insurer. It turned out that it does provide services there too. It’s just that comparis is not accurate.
The would be insurer accepted my withdrawal. I’m sure I’ve already informed the current insurer where I’m leaving them so I’ll have to update them with my next choice
