Chats in German

Hello everybody!

I started to learn German and I think I would learn much more faster if I had a chance to practice. If anybody else is in the same situation what do you think about getting together on a regular basis (for example weekly) in a good place, having a coffee/tea, getting to know each other, practicing German.

I am opened to any ideas.

P.S. I live in Zurich

English conversation

Hi Katya, I am also learning German. A very painful and frustrating business. But I am finding that one has to try speaking to non-english speakers ... otherwise one just lapses back into the comfortable english.

My personal joke about this is that I have friends here of all nationalities except German/Swiss ........ and our only common language is german - as broken and stupidly inane as we speak we all at least understand one another, and what we dont understand gets explained in all sorts of sign language! We dont get hung up with all the Der/Die/Dem/Den/Des things!

Sometimes I do cringe when with my crowd .... Chinese, Philipine, Thai, Polish, Vietnamese ....... and imagine what impression we make with our "german"! But at least we getting some practice! And a lot of laughs.

Why not! At least we can jump to Hungarian if something goes wrong in German, right Katya?

2 things:

When?

Where?

PM me please if you have the details...
