Cheap clothing shop zurich

OKay.I am a student at ETH, and I went shopping at oerlikon (So expensive!). So i am looking for a place where clothes are much cheaper,im not into branded stuff,I want it to look good. The thing is I am new.So I have no clue where or how to go. I live i Bachlerstrasse. I know how to get to sternen oerlikon and HB. More than that I am lost

So if you guys could tell me where I could go it will be great

Also could you tell me where I can specifically get thermal wear(dint find it in migros, coop or C&A), and warm winter clothing,I am already freezing!!!

Thank you,

Rama

Migros at Glattzentrum for Winter (sports) clothing. H&M is also there.

H&M is cheap and has got sales all year long.

Migros Sport has got thermal clothes. You can find it in Migros City at Loewenstrasse or Ochsner Sport at the Bhnhofstrasse has also got special winter clothes.

Thank you guys!!!

C&A has also cheap clothes

C&A seems to be for older women...

I like C & A too. You have to watch out with the cheap goods that you don ́t get total trash which disintegrates in a month of use. Once you get a feel for the place here, try hitting the better stores during sales periods and get stuff that ́s being massively reduced because of the end of season.

Lastly, don ́t forget Brockis, second hand shops, where you might have to sift through a lot of trash, but you can sometimes get cool or useful things for cheap. Good luck getting through this time.

Alternative:

Take a day trip on the train to Konstanz in Germany.

This is a (beautiful) university town with plenty of opportunities for bargain hunting.

If you buy less than the import limit (300CHF? please check) you'll get any tax (21%) back at the train station on your way home.

Happy shopping!

Harry

BTW: What size(s) are you? Mrs B has plenty of nice, quality, new, nearly new stuff she never wears. Maybe we can help.

I highly recommend Krause outlet at Stauffacher. They have good quality things for nice prices. At times you can get excellent things (like silk dress for 20fr, but not anymore), still it is possible to find trousers for 10-20fr of brands like Esprit and similar.

If you want to go a bit futher there are a couple of outlets next to IKEA in Dietlikon, like Globus, Shield, Companys. I like Globus outlet most, many times you ca get nice t-shirts, trousers, etc. for approx. 9fr. (normally most clothes are on 50%, 70% during sales season.) Companys has usually everything on 50% and during the sales season everything is 75%.

I don't like Navyboot quality (I don't get how fairly expensive shoes can be so uncomfortable), but there is also their outlet nearby and sometimes shoes for around even 30-40frs.

Spreitenbach Dietikon, not necessarily cheaper than other places but has most shops under the one roof, good during xmas and july sales.

If you're into second hand clothing, you could try the flea markets. There's a pretty good one at helvetiaplatz every Saturday morning, though it tends to be better when the weather's nicer. There are often people there who are just selling things from their house as a one-off.

Also, look for brockenhaus or brocki. They are the cheap second hand shops. Stores that call themselves 'second hand' are usually only designer clothes that are still very expensive.

A good thrift store is Brocki-land. It's in an old parking garage, and pretty much everything there is 3CHF. It's a bit harder to find clothes there, since they organize it by color instead of style, but it is cheap.
