I am moving to Zurich in September. And I am loving for a service I could use to ship my personal stuff to Zurich. It approximately 50lbs, so the USPS is quite expensive to do it. Is there any cheaper service offered in State? What about DHL?
Our experience back in 2007 when we were on holiday in the US and wanted to post some stuff back to Switzerland - UPS wanted to charge us $100 more than USPS for UPS take it down to the nearest US post office and post it. That was their cheapest option at the time.
If you have an address here in Switzerland it can be delivered to and you don’t need it in a hurry then probably sending is via USPS economy service will be the cheapest. It’ll take 3-4 weeks to arrive, but if you don’t need it immediately that’s no problem. See if you can break it down into smaller packages, that might lower the price a bit too.
yeah. USPS is definitely cheaper than UPS and Fedex. I am considering whether or not DHL should be ever cheaper through their ocean service. Cuz I have around 60lbs.
If it's only 60 pounds, and not a massive piece of furniture, you might consider paying for it as extra luggage when you fly.
