I have looked into american market, taste of america (whose selection is really sad), american food avenue and I can't find cheetos in CH.
Now, I just want to know where to find them because I am craving them..I even try to order them from amazon.com and they do not deliver and from amazon.de they wanted to charge 64 euros for shipping (10 euros for 2 bags, which I was willing to pay)...any help would be greatly appreciated...Is there a UK sueprmarket that delivers to CH?
Puffs or crunchy?? I will be in Scotland for a week from Friday -If you find a UK supplier you can have them sent to my address and I can bring them back for you.
The best alternative I could find for you if you need something to tide you over. From the American Market food store or the Brit Shop are Wotsits Baked Really Cheesy Flavour Corn Puffs
I will be in the Uk from the 25th March to April 4th. If you don't get them before that let me know and I'll pm you my address in Scotland. Just make sure they can be delivered by Saturday the 2nd to be sure I get them before my flight on Monday.
I checked Tesco online and an american/mexican shop in Glasgow/Edinburgh and they didn't have them there so internet shop seems to be the only option. And I agree the crunchy are best!! Although Tesco did have an aged cheddar cheese puff.
OK, so it's not quite a Cheeto, but you'd be amazed: get plain white rice cakes (those crunchy fluffy disks) and spread Roquefort cheese on them. If you close your eyes, it's a surprisingly similar taste experience. (If you look at Cheetos and the like, you'll notice that despite the jaundiced color of the snack, the ingredients include bleu cheese.)
Maybe make a mix of Roquefort and real Cheddar cheese. That'd be delicious. The rice cake gives the proper neutral crunch base.
Just got back from London. I went into Sainsbrys, Marks and Spencers and the local mini grocery and newsagent but couldn't find cheetos
I did find baked cheesy wotsits... they seem to be similar. I've got two small packs if you want to pm me your address and I'll post them off to you tomorrow
I wonder how it would work to make a polenta based spatzle, maybe make with polenta and corn starch to help make it a bit lighter? Use a "potato ricer" with the larger holes to drop the "worms" into hot oil.
If that works, the cheesy coating is the next (and maybe more difficult) part.
Guess someone could just suck the "cheese" off some to analyze what the combination of "cheeses" is.
They don't seem to have them as well but they offer a service where you can specially order stuff. Might be worth asking the question. The button is on the home page.
