To be fair though, you don't go into a McD's expecting a gourmet experience. Most people going to McD's know they are being served convenience crap which has probably had every short-cut and money saving measure thrown at it.

Personally, I don't think the occasional visit for a burger/nugget fix is going to do anyone any harm but most people are certainly under no illusions that it's crap food. You get what you pay for, basically.

I agree with that but there are certain people addicted with this...I have a friend who has got addicted with those crappy burgers and nuggets. this is one for the addicts

oh don't get me started

mcdonalds sells billions of these things, billions of chickens tortured every minute of their lives, its an abomination.

but you know, mmm finger lickin good, i'm lovin it, just do it, you're worth it etc, or i don't mind feeding my kids this

1. Not in Switzerland - it's a whole piece of Swiss chicken breast, wrapped in breadcrumbs and then fried.

2. Not in Europe - GMO foods are illegal in Europe.

3. I'm so tired of people trying to make McDonalds out to be unhealthy - they aren't unhealthy in any way.

as an example, the ingredients in the UK are

The again, I can't see anything wrong with the American ingredients here

Depends. There are two types.

What you wrote is correct for the more expensive Prime Chicken Filets .

The Chicken McNuggets are restructured meat, but that's not a McD specialty. You'll find plenty of such stuff in many other restaurants as well as on Coop and Migros shelves.

Indeed - as well as a nice home-made chicken burger.

Here the Swiss ingredient.

It is mostly the same. Chicken Breast, which is most likely pressed with starch as a binding agent, freezed, and then cut in shape for uniform quantity.

Main differences:

- more details on what kind of starch in the Swiss listing.

- UK uses less salt, for 6 pcs only 0.6 g vs. 1.2 g in the Swiss Nuggets.

- UK uses extra potassium chloride, to offset the lower quantity of table salt.

- The Swiss add Glucose.

- The UK uses one additional raising agent.

-Th UK uses wheat semolina, the Swiss use wheat gluten directly.

PS: Even the highest class burger patty made of prime beef only is "restructured meat".

My kids couldn't care less, they love them. Not that we go out of our way to eat there as the prices seem to be a little extreme.

damn. now i'm craving chicken nuggets. thanks a lot, kutties!

did you tell and show your kids how the chickens are treated, often children are more socially conscious than their parents.

They were made aware of it in school. TBH I've never been a fan and probably would never go if it weren't for the kids.

They do taste awesome with curry sauce though.

bbq sauce. Always bbq sauce. And a Carlsberg.

Agreed. Curry sauce with nuggets is just wrong .

But not Carslberg

chickens devolved from velociraptors, if they where still velociraptors we'd eat a lot less of them, and I bet when they where velociraptors they ate a shed load of monkeys and didn't feel in the least bit bad about it, so this is just payback, don't like it chickens? then re-evolve back and we'll talk about it

Why is it wrong? Its delicious

Here`s Jamie Oliver on the Chicken Nugget issue .....

But Carlsberg is what they have - it's the absolute finest beer in McDonalds.

That's why, if I'm ever in McDonalds, I buy the prime chicken fillets instead. Still cruelly raised and full of added water and junk, but at least it's real strips of meat, not processed meat (I stopped eating processed meat in 1989 when they said they were going to stop putting brain and spinal column in minced meat. I had always thought that minced meat was atually meat (muscle) that had been minced).
