I've read on this site that children who live / are schooled in Switzerland for 12 years have a path where they can request naturalisation. My wifes on a CDL and I'm working, on a Ci. She's non EU (UK -AAARRGGHH) and I'm also ( CA) so we won't get any form of residence (except the possible request to stay at retirement)
I've tried searching for this on the official channels but am coming up blank.
Did this path also disappear with the 2017 changes?
She's been in school here for 6 years now.

The place to start is with your wife’s HR department. They can give you chapter and verse on this question.
Is your daughter in a local school or an international school?

A CdL child can request its own independent permit B or C (depending on residency duration) at age 21 (prior if financially independent). Once they have C, and fulfill all other requirements, they can also apply for citizenship. CdL years count for citizenship.
The residency requirement for direct permit C is usually 12 years on CdL/Ci, 5 years for nationals from countries with a residence treaty. Sometimes they also shorten the duration of stay for other nationals.
