My daughters birthday is tomorrow and she would like something chocolate. I haven't found anything in the groceries stores that really suits my fancy (and I can get Lindt in the US). I really miss my Vosges Chocolate, having withdrawals for those $6 candy bars...lol..our favs

We did both of these a few weeks ago. It was a great day and a lot of fun. We went cause the kids wanted to go, but I can't buy Callier on a normal basis as I boycott Nestle. Just placed a Vosges order for myself for Mother's Day, a little indulgence is always welcome.
when you have a chance, take a walk around lausanne. there is a great little chocolaterie near st. francois and it is delicious. forgot the name but a cute little shop near la duree that would seem a special place for a little girl to pick out something special.
Oooh yes! That's Chocolats Blondel right next door to the Laduree. An inspired positioning of shops IMHO. Fab macaroons and fab chocolates

There is another great chocolate store in Lausanne, which is called Anghern, it's close to Bel Air. But it is rather expensive.
Then there is a great private chocolaterie in Crissier (suburb of Lausanne) - where they make custom chocolate figures. I once got chocolate roosters made there, it is a very sweet family run business by Vincent Kuonen (rue de la Blancherie 8).
