Hi all,
My wife and I will be spending Christmas in Saas-Fee and looking for help on where to have a great Christmas dinner. It is my wifes first Christmas abroad and away from family so I was wanting to make it cool and special. I don't mean expensive and black tie, but somewhere with great atmosphere, lots of food and a nice Christmas vibe. Do places do a special Christmas dinner meal/menu or does it just tend to be the standard menu?
Also when is the main Christmas celebration over here, Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day?
Cheers,
If you are going to celebrate Christmas in Saas-Fee, you need to watch this for pointers on how it is celebrated in the region:
The restaurant with the most character in Saas-Fee is Bodmen . Very nice walk through the forest to get to the restaurant with a good atmosphere. I don't know what the traditional Christmas meal is down there but around here, it's Fondue Chinoise on X-mas eve. Have a nice visit.
Hmm, looks like they do things a little differently down in Saas-Fee, I'll have to be on my guard I think!
Thanks for the tip on Bodmen, I'll check it out.
We ended up at La Ferme for Christmas Eve dinner. Great restaurant with excellent food that was a real pleasure to eat and all done in a cosy rustic setting that was both tasteful and attractive. Pricey but certainly a great place for the special occasion dinner.
