Circuit Training in Zug, Zurich

Hi boys and girls,

Was hoping for your advise....

I arrived in Zug 2 weeks ago and now I am thinking about my future employment. I was a fitness instructor/personal trainer in the U.K (aerobics and circuits teacher also L.B.Ts.)

I know there is a Migros gym in the centre of Zug. Once I get my permit...hopefully a "B" permit....do you think it will be hard to get a job (few classes) teaching aerobis/circuits in English? My German is still terrible!

Su

Hi,

I have recently started looking for somewhere to do circuit training in Zurich, but can't find anywhere.

Anyone got any ideas? Drop me a line..

Cheers.

Hugh

There's a thread nearby called something like Gyms in Zurich. Have a search.

Hi mate

I would love you to get a position at Migros fitness and kick off a circuit. For over 6 years I have dreamed of bringing circuits into Swiss, where they do not know the concept, it is the perfect balance of strength training and cardio-fitness with a little compeitition thrown in between male and female as there are no places to hide on a circuit! In Zug, English is almost the official language as there are so many Yanks, Aussies, Brits and Kiwis, as a city of international commerce you will have no end of clients as long as you are good. Go for it!

Hi Su,

Currently looking for a personal trainer so if you're interested in your first job then lets speak!

Cheers

Corinna

There is another gym in Cham called "Fitness Connection" ( www.fitnessconnection.ch ). You may want to check with them.

Most of the current staff in there don't have a scooby doo, so yeah I reckon it would be a good thing to see. There's the odd one or two of us who go in there and get odd looks while we're doing movement prep before going for 1RM deadlift, but most of the people who go there aren't in it for the fitness (or so it seems to me)

That said, the cardio area is always packed so if you do get some circuits going I'm sure there would be takers. Alternatively just do it freelance, join the gym as a member and then go along when your clients are there and train with them.

So two years on and there is still nowhere in Zurich to do circuit training?

Gutting!!

Is what you're searching very different from what Vitaparcours do offer?

Migros Fitness @ Stockerhof has something that looks like circuit training to me.

A series of machines, you plug your personalized card into each machine, do your exercise, you move on.

Is that what you're looking for?

You can't have been looking very hard. Stop playing poker and get on with it.

IRCOAM.

Nope.

No machines...... just mats, wooden benches, beams etc...

10 push ups, 10 seconds rest, 10 sit ups, 10 seconds rest, 10 chin ups, 10 second rest, jog, 10 seconds rest, etc.

Take the 100 rep challenge Hugh - very do-able at home

20 pressups, 30 sec rest

20 situps, 30 sec rest

20 bodyweight squats, 30 sec rest

x 5 (e.g. you do 100 of each)

If you can get that done in around 15 mins total, you're a machine. Prepare for nausea.

Hi, I'm new to this and just returned from a vacation in the States where I joined my sister for "Boot Camp" in California. I would love to find something similar here in the Zürich area. Preferably in the Oberland region if possible. If anyone knows of a class like this or circuit training, please let me know. Thanks!
